New Years..... New Bruises.....

My brother Jared and his family came down to visit for New years, and not being one to pass up a free trip Robert came along too. We decided to give them a taste of the Old West, so we went to Rawhide, which is an Old West amusement park type town. It was super cold for some reason, but they had some fun stuff to see.

There was a simulated shootout every hour in Main St., they also had a stunt show, burro rides, train ride, jail, blacksmith, gift shops, restaurant, and our favorite - a mechanical bull.... (the video is a little long, but that's just because I stayed on so long)

The guy tried to turn it down for Xandra, but instead he turned it all the way up. She jammed her hand a little bit, but she was ok the next day. I'm pretty sure that will be her last time on a mechanical bull for awhile.

The next day Jared and Diane left the kids with us and they went to visit Tombstone AZ, so Melanie got to spend the morning with the girls doing her favorite thing - Shopping!!!! Then we spent the afternoon decorating our place for New years eve. We then had a nice soak in the jacuzzi. We rang in the new year by lighting off all the fireworks I had left, and this time it was actually legal. Thank you for that Arizona.

The last day of their trip we were all too tired to do too much, so we went shopping at the mall and went to the movie 'Tangled'. We finished off the night with a Mexican cuisine. It was good to see everyone and we had a fun time exploring our little part of Arizona with them.

A few weeks ago while Melanie was at work she got a fortune cookie. After breaking it open she read the fortune, it said "Pursue the idea you have on your mind". So she did precisely that. She went to her boss and asked for a raise. He told her that he would ask the managers for their opinion and then he would let her know at the end of the week. Well, the end of the week came and she not only got a raise but she got put on salary. So now I really have a sugar momma!!!!

That's our news for this time.....

The last 2 months

Well it has been awhile sense we updated our blog. So here is what has been happening since October..... In the month of November same old thing work and school. (I know right exciting) But thanksgiving weekend I had four days off so we thought we would take advantage of that instead of going home to California, we decided to go to Sedona and go Camping. It was really pretty the town was cute too. (expensive too haha) We left friday morning get there after 1 set up our camp, which isn't a lot (we don't have kids yet), and we decied to go exploring, hiking, climbing and jumping on rocks. We get back and start a fire, it was pretty cold, Tom bought these hand warmer things that said that will get up to 150 degree's because we knew it was going to be cold, well they took like almost 4 hours for them to even get up to probably around 90 degrees, if that.... It is a good thing we only paid like 50 cents for them. I guess the saying goes "you get what you paid for." That night we decided to go on a night hike, well it almost became a smelly night hike... As we were walking near the river we had our flash light pointing one way and all of sudden we heard something coming near us and we turned the flashlight towards that direction, and the "thing" that was coming near us.... a SKUNK!!!! As soon as we pointed the light towards the skunk it turned around and ran away and we did the same too.... All i could say that would have been a bad experience. The next day we did some more hiking and then we packed up and headed home.

Now the month of December.... again not a lot of things happened, work and school. Tom finished his first semester at "big boy school" 5 A's 2 B's, I was very proud of him. We didn't do a lot of christmas tradition we watched our christmas movies, watched the christmas devotional made some treats and went around giving them to people. I decided not to decorate the house, I'm never home I work 50 hours + a week so as you can guess i'm very tierd all the time. I wanted to go home for christmas, so we went back to California for christmas a quick trip, it was fun to see everyone and spend the holiday with my family, eat, laugh and eat some more..... so there you have it the last 2 months....

"Happy Holidays...... is what terrorists say!
Merry Christmas!!!!!"
